Drew Henderson (59), of Philadelphia, passed away on Monday, March 25, 2019 in Montgomery County, Pa. Drew was born in Philadelphia to Donald and Delores Henderson on March 15, 1960. After the passing of his mother he was also raised by his step mother Elizabeth and guarded by Momma Lil. He was affectionately known as (Kelser). As a child he played many sports. Drew loved basketball, he was an avid bowler and a great dancer. Drew was educated in The Philadelphia Public School System and attended James Rhoades Elementary, University City High School and later attended Cheyney University. He worked as a Behavioral Health Specialist for Tenant MCP, Friends Mental Health and Hahnemann Hospital.
He was baptized at an early age at Bible Way Baptist Church
He and Rachel Henderson were united in holy matrimony on August 6, 2016 in New Orleans. To this union Denisha, Delores, Sharisse, Chanell and Nikki were joined through this marriage. Together, Drew and Rachel enjoyed traveling, bowling and exploring a variety of cuisines.
Drew was a very fine member of his own Cigar Club. He was also the Mayor of his residential area, 51st and Hoopes. Drew’s kind heart and humor was felt by many.
Drew is preceded in death by his father and mother Donald and Delores Henderson.
Drew is survived by his wife Rachel Henderson; children,Denisha Corbett (Bernard), Delores Turlington, Sharisse Johnson, Chanell Johnson and Nikki Seward (Dantony);sisters and brothers, Carolyn Johnson, Donna Henderson, Donald G. Henderson II (Alessandra), Edward Phillip(Edna) and James Phillip (Ejacqulinne); grandchildren,Saniya, Michael, Julissa, Khloe, Madison, Devin, Destiny and Noa-Rachel; nieces and nephew, Celeste, Arkedia, Dasia, Donald III, and a host of great nieces, nephews, family and friends.
