Francine “Frenchie” Comaller Maddox was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Ms. Frances Bryant and Mr. Mark Maddox. She was educated in the Philadelphia public school system and has worked as a payroll clerk, and also a mail processing clerk for the United States Post office before becoming a home maker and a member of the Democratic Ward Executive Committee and working the voting polls in her later years. She was a pillar in the community and was well respected and revered. Francine is the widow of Mr. James L. Brown and she loved him dearly. She is survived by three children: Towanda L. Record, Marc A. Maddox and Teasha C. Maddox. And five wonderful grandchildren: Markeith Pompey, Raquel Bey, Marcquawne McGeachy, Chloe Maddox and Kerrington Maddox. She also has five great grand children: Makayla Pompey, Markeith Pompey Jr., Markaii Pompey, Penina McGeachy, Novella McGeachy and she loved and cherished each of them. Francine has 6 loving siblings who she shared a close and sacred bond with, she is predeceased by brother John H. Mike Sr. Her surviving siblings are, sister Pecola Lockhart-Fry, brother Francis H. Maddox, sister Sherry T. Robinson, brother Terry C. Maddox, sister Pennye Johnson and baby sister Lisa M. Moy. She also has a host of nieces and nephews that she loved very much. She leaves behind two beloved pets, cat Molly and turtle, Twinkle Toes. Our mother was a very vibrant woman, fiercely independent and was always the life of the party! She enjoyed living life to the fullest, making countless lifelong friends along the way. We’ll miss her magnetic smile and giving nature. She befriended people from all walks of life and has a vast array of friends that she loved so much. She always had a listening ear, a gentle touch and gravitated to the brighter side of life. Please remember our mother as the shining star that she is and please remember the last time she made you smile. Our mother is no longer in pain, she’s in God’s care now.
