Harold Johnson Jr. passed away on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at his residence in Euless, Texas. Harold was born on February 02, 1957 in Newark, New Jersey to the late Harold Johnson Sr. and Kay Johnson. Harold grew up in Newark NJ where he enjoyed a happy childhood with his family and friends.

In 1975, Harold graduated from Weequahic High School in Newark, NJ.

Harold was a phenomenal baseball player, he was All-City in Newark NJ. Baseball was Harold’s first love and then there was basketball, roller-skating, playing

pool and riding his motorcycle. After graduating high school, Harold worked various jobs. When his father took ill, Harold had to end his flourishing baseball career and step up and take care of his family. Harold went to school to learn how to drive tractor trailers along with being taught by his father. Once Harold graduated from driving school, Harold began driving tractor-trailers at the early age of 21. Harold worked for NJ Xpress Inc. for many years as a truck driver and eventually became a life long owner operator of his own trucking company following in the footsteps of his father.

Harold moved to Texas over 17 years ago and lived in various cities in Texas where he continued to operate his interstate trucking business. Harold’s career as a truck driver spanned for more than 30 years, which allowed him to travel throughout the country until he took ill and was forced into early retirement. Harold did not let his illness stop him from living. He continued to live life to the fullest and you could always find him cracking a joke, handling business and definitely in the pool hall. Harold’s hobby was collecting cars, trucks and especially Billards (pool). He was a phenomenal athlete and he has a numerous amount of trophies to prove it.

Harold was a funny, hardworking, loving, caring and charming father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Harold had an ear for music and enjoyed playing the drums for many years. He loved keeping in touch with his grandchildren through FaceTime. He was "Dad" to his children and "Grandpa" to his grandchildren, “Junior” to his parents and siblings and “Uncle Harold” to his “nieces and nephews. Harold had an infectious laugh and a smile that would light up the room. No matter how far away Harold was, he always made a way; nothing could stop him from being there for each and every one of his children as they were his pride and joy. Becoming a grandfather just made things even brighter for Harold they were the center of his world.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Harold Johnson Sr. and Kay Johnson and his son Calvin Johnson. He leaves behind to cherish his loving brother Phillip (David) Johnson and sister Nancy Johnson; (4) children, Sheron Johnson-Thomas (Terrance) of Newark DE, Nicole Adams of Camden, DE, Damien Johnson of Parlin, NJ and Deidra Wade of Newark, NJ; (3) grandchildren, Devin Thomas and Deion Thomas

of Newark, DE and Ayden Bowman of Camden, DE along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
