James F. Cuffie Jr.

James Filard Cuffie Jr, age 43, departed June 29, 2025 at home with his wife and mother by his side.

James Filard Cuffie Jr, born January 18, 1982 to Yvette Wright Francis Cuffie of Silver Spring, Maryland and James F. Cuffie Sr.

James attended Wheaton High School in Wheaton, MD where he played basketball and saxophone in the school band. After graduating, he moved to Philadelphia, PA and followed a hospitality track and held many positions at area food establishments. James found comradery amongst his fellow staff serving at The Spaghetti Warehouse, a number of Stephen Starr restaurants, management at The Twisted Tail, behind the bar at La Tapenade in the Philly International Airport, and at The Prime Rib in LIVE! Casino, where he ended his career.

James loved life, had a great taste for eclectic music, enjoyed watching Marvel Comics movies, pro-wrestling, TV sitcoms, dramas, and stand up comedy. He was a loyal Washington, DC sports fan, especially The Washington Commanders Football team.

James is predeceased by his brother William Kyndall Francis, 47. James leaves behind his wife and partner of 16 years, Tara McCann Cuffie and young son Xavier Cuffie, his mother Yvette Wright Francis Cuffie, a sister-in-law Tina Francis, one nephew Kamal Francis, one niece Kendall Francis and lots of loyal and adoring friends.
