Joyce Anne Hewlett, born on September 24, 1948, in New Kent, VA, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2026, in Philadelphia, PA, at the age of 77. A devoted caregiver, Joyce dedicated her life to enhancing the well-being of those around her. She found joy in her work within the home care industry, embodying kindness and compassion that made a lasting impact on all who knew her.
Joyce was a remarkable individual with a wide array of talents and passions. As an artist, she expressed her creativity through her work, and her talents extended to singing and dancing.Her spirited nature and remarkable achievements included being a spelling bee champion, showcasing her sharp wit and intelligence. Joyce was also an Entrepreneur Business owner and her Ice cream truck "Tom and Jerry" (Where she hand painted looney Tune characters all over the truck) was famous for always having soft/warm Philly Pretzels and outstanding water Ices in all flavors was heard all over the Mount Erie neighborhood territory. Those closest to her will fondly remember her as a passionate and free-spirited friend always ready to lend an ear and support during times of need. Her loving nature and vibrant personality created countless cherished memories with her family and friends.
Joyce is survived by her beloved daughter, Melody , along with her grandchildren: Ronald, Kristin, Kai, Nathanael. She also leaves behind great-grandchildren Dominick , Sophia , Isaiah , Taj , and Heaven as well as her siblings Ruth , Sylvia , Harold,Jean, and Ralph. Nieces and Nephew include , Samuel, Sherlene, Kimberly, George, Tisha,Patrice, Stephanie, Tiffany, Angel, Travis and Steve. Great nieces and Nephews Shantae, Sierra,Sabrina, Stacy, Christopher, Christina and Sheldon. With a host of great great nieces and nephews. Joyce's influence will continue to resonate through her family, who will dearly miss her warm and nurturing spirit.
Joyce's life will be honored and remembered as we gather to celebrate the love and joy she brought to everyone's lives. Following the service, she will be cremated at the same location. Joyce Anne Hewlett will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love will forever endure in the hearts of all she touched.
Joyce was preceded in death by: Earl (Husband), Bernard(father) Ruth (Mother). George ( Big Brother).
