Celebration of Life
Lawrence Edwin Walker was born January 14, 1955, to the late Jerome Walker, and the late Audrey Walker, both from Virginia, who both preceded him in death.
Lawrence was born, and raised in Chester, Pa. He also attended the Chester Public School District during his young years.
After leaving High School early, Lawrence decided to join the Armed Forces. He tested well for the United States Air Force.
Lawrence served 4 years of service with the United States Air Force. Honorably discharged, Ranking, "Sargent".
Lawrence continued his education after leaving the Armed Forces
Lawrence attended, and graduated from the Quaker City School of Aeronautics, 1978-1979.
He also attended, and graduated from the Pennsylvania Institute of Technology, Media, Pa. from 1983-1984.
In between all his studies, Lawrence moonlighted as a musician. He was an accomplished Bass guitar player. Accompanying known musicians such as Billy Paul, The infamous Tramps, and Major Harris.
During his moonlighting, Lawrence met, and married Phyllis Mason, April 13, 1991, and welcomed his stepchildren Camille, and Dana Mason.
Lawrence worked at multiple jobs throughout his lifetime.
Lawrence started out with the US Postal Services from 1987-1989. He was also employed with the Naval Shipyards from 1989-1991. And American Airlines (AMR services) from 1989-1995.
Lastly, SEPTA from 1991-2019.
Lawrence retired from SEPTA after 28 years of service, as a Signals Maintainer. He was well liked by his Crew and offered assistance to whomever asked.
Lawrence was funny, and a witty guy. Often opinionated, but still loved by his family, and friends.
He will be sadly missed.
Lawrence is survived by his Stepdaughters, Camille R. Mason, from Delaware, Dana L. Mason, from Philadelphia, Granddaughter, Mariah Mason of Delaware. Brothers, Jerome Walker, and Leon Walker, from Chester, Pa. along with a host of close friends and relatives.
