Mary Lee Kelsey

January 17, 1933 — January 24, 2026

With her granddaughter by her side, Mary Lee Kelsey peacefully entered into eternal rest on January 24, 2026. Mary was born on January 17th, 1933 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and was educated in the Philadelphia School System where she became a Teaching Assistant.

Mary dedicated her life to The Lord under the pastorship of Reverend Leon Sullivan of Zion Baptist Church.

Mary loved shopping, going to the casino, and her favorite pastime- Bingo! She loved calling family members and friends to sing happy birthday as her gift to them. She found delight in enhancing the lives of her family and others, always displaying a level of kindness and compassion that made a lasting impact on everyone who knew and loved her. Mary’s expert culinary skills will never be forgotten as her fried chicken was a requested and in demand staple at every family gathering. Mary Lee was preceded in death by her daughter Valerie Jean and now leaves behind a legacy of love to: her granddaughter, Yvonne (Vincent), grandson Christopher, her great-grandsons Tayon, Mekhi, Christopher, Jr. and Jysir and great-great granddaughters Valerie and Ava, her sisters Rosalie Griffin and Jeanette Rhoades and a host of nieces and nephews.
