Naomi was the second child born to the late Tobe and Rosalie McClinton in Philadelphia, PA on June 25, 1944.
Naomi was raised in The Church of The Living God, The Pillar and Ground of the Truth, under the leadership of Prophet F.S. Cherry.
She was a devoted and active member in the Church, participating in, and had the distinction of singing “Bless This House” on the Prophet’s live broadcast. Naomi was a member of the Junior Drill Team, Israelite Harmonettes, Israelite Socialites Club; also served on the Usher Board of the Church, was active with the Senior Saints Committee, Children’s Program and the Needle Art Club. Naomi was an appointed Gospel Singer in the Church.
Naomi was educated in the Philadelphia Public School system. She graduated from William Penn High School and was a member of the School Choir. She distinguished herself by being duly qualified to run for School President.
Cooking and sewing were hobbies of Naomi. One of her favorite passions was singing birthday greetings to family and friends over the telephone.
Naomi was very proud of her children and spoke very highly of their accomplishments.
Naomi had three siblings who proceeded her in death: Samuel, Doris and Ronald.
Left to cherish her memory: Alfred (Wanda), Bennie, Angelyn, Aaron (Bridget) and Azel. Ten grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, one sister, Gloria Pope, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, church family and friends.
