Paul Jamison

January 3, 1930 — September 20, 2018

Paul Jamison Sr. age 88, closed his eyes in death on Thursday September 20th, 2018 surrounded by his wife and family at the Visiting Nursing Association Hospice in Philadelphia Pennsylvania. Paul was born in Lone Star, South Carolina on January 3rd 1930 to the late Wilber and Hattie (Poindexter) Jamison. He was the second oldest of 10 children. Paul was educated in the Lone Star School System. He later married the love of his life Minnie L. Haynes on October 28th 1950; from this union they bore and raised 11 children together; Paul Jr. (preceded in death), Joseph, James, Jerry, Betty, Rose, Mary, Valerie (preceded) John, Bobby, David. Paul's passion and love for the outdoors was evident at an early age, he worked masterfully with his hands growing crops, raising livestock and other agricultural projects. As an adult Paul obtained his commercial driver's license and became a professional truck driver; he was gainfully employed at the Dupont Chemical plant, Lucius Borrick Lumber hauling pod wood up and down the East Coast, and Vans Furniture as a truck driver. He was also employed and would eventually retire from the School Board of Philadelphia. Paul learned about Jehovah's laws and principles and how to live by them. What he learned motivated him to get baptized on January 12th 1963 as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. Paul humbly served as a Ministerial Servant, he took his assignments seriously; whether it was a Bible reading assignment or working on the Kingdom Hall site; he viewed all of his assignments as coming directly from Jehovah God. He was dependable, kind and generous with his time. Paul never expected anything in return. He was known to encourage and build up others in the congregation. He also loved the ministry and talking to people about God's promises. Paul instilled spiritual values in his family that will last forever. He practiced what he taught, putting the needs of others ahead of his own; making many personal sacrifices for the comfort and happiness of others. He was outstanding, trustworthy as a loving Husband, a kind Father, Grandfather, Great grandfather, Uncle and Brother. His love for people and his humorous ways extended to his spiritual family as well. Paul always prayed together with his wife to his heavenly father Jehovah, until his death. Paul is survived by his wife of 68 years Minnie Jamison, his daughters Betty Jamison, Rose Mouzon, Mary (Desi) Massey, sons Joseph (Carol) Jamison, Jerry, James (Doris) Jamison, Bobby (Judy) Jamison, John, and David; Sister, Rosa Mae, Brothers Robert, Booker T (Shirley), David and Jack; A host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.

Paul was preceded in death by his son Paul Jr., and daughter Valerie; Sisters, Jill and Cecilia; Brothers, Wilber, Roosevelt, and Saul.

His favorite quotes were: “Family is everything!” and “Arrivederci!” Our hearts are broken, but our spirit is not crush. We have the joy of his beautiful memories and the promise of the resurrection in paradise from Jehovah.
