Warren Christopher

July 2, 1929 — January 1, 2019

LIFE STORY
Warren Dickerson, precious son of the late Cora brown and William Dickerson was born in April 10, 1946 in Philadelphia Pennsylvania. He was raised by the late Betsy Coates. At an early age, he accepted Christ as his personal Savior and was baptized. He remained a strong believer in god. God in His wisdom sent his angels down from above to take his beloved son home. Warren departed on Monday, September 17, 2018 after a short illness.
Warren was educated in the Philadelphia public school system, where he graduated and received his diploma from Edison high school. He was employed by the southeastern Pennsylvania transportation authority (SEPTA) for 30-years. He retired in December 2010.
Warren married the late Bernice Parks-Dickerson, whom he cherished and loved dearly. She was the love of his life. He took pride in spending time with his family and friends. He frequently would visit various restaurants to eat with his best friend/brother (Mr.Larry). Their favorite restaurant was the Temple rainbow Diner on broad street. He loved to shop with his cousin, Rob and never passed up a trip to the mall. Shopping was his THING. He loved fashion and kept up with the latest apparel trends from head to toe. He will always be remembered for his impeccable taste in hats and shoes. He also enjoyed fishing, singing, dancing, (Bop), riding the SEPTA buses for free and listening to music, but classical music was his favorite.
Warren was a no nonsense person who spoke his mind whether you liked it or not. But if he was wrong, he would let you know. In his own way, he expressed his love and concerns for his family and friends. He lived life to the fullest and had a smile that was contagious.
Warren was preceded in death by his wife Bernice Dickerson, and his four siblings, Frances, Billy, Mary and Arlene.
Warren will be missed by all who were privileged enough to know and live him.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his seven children, Warren Alexander(Anita), Helen Brown, James Parks (Cynthia), Renee Graham (Alex), Lisa Hawkins (Shakur) Dione Dickerson and Tiffany Dickerson; eleven grandchildren, Warren, Keiana, Cliff, Maurice, Darryl, Kyrron, Denzel, Dominic, Erika, and Cianni; one mother-in-law, Helen Parks; two sisters-in-laws, Pearl Oliver and Marian Parks; two brother-in-laws, Theodore Parks and Robert parks; 7 great grandchildren. He also leaves to cherish his life a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
